On Thursday 28 September, The Kitchen at Maison, the Eat Out 2016 top ten restaurant at Maison Estate in the Franschhoek Valley, will host the first of The Four Coursemen Collaboration series, where four renowned chefs will be showcasing their culinary skills, to celebrate Spring in the Cape Winelands.
Eric Bulpitt from Faber restaurant at Avondale Wine Estate in Paarl, Chris Erasmus from Foliage in Franschhoek, and Michelle Theron from Pierneef à La Motte Restaurant, also in Franschhoek, will join chef Arno Janse van Rensburg at The Kitchen at Maison, to provide an evening of food and wine to remember.
Each event will see the chefs delighting palates with canapes and four courses paired with wines, and the host chef will prepare the main course. Chef Arno was unable to give us even a hint of what he will be preparing, as he says: “I will be using locally sourced fresh ingredients, and we will have to see what our gardens at Maison have on offer.”
It will be interesting to see how the four of us work together in each other’s kitchens, and to see how each of our dishes complement the others. Chef collaborations are an excellent way for us to share and experience other ways of doing things in the kitchen.”
