Make memories this Mother’s Day
Moms take centre stage at a Mother’s Day Sensory Luncheon to be staged in The Atlantic on 14 May 2017. Each course in the lavish luncheon will spectacularly paired with invigorating fresh and natural scents inspired by The Table Bay’s boutique fragrance range, KAAP. A bespoke South African Fragrance, expressed in 100% natural botanical ingredients from the Cape. Top notes of fresh green sweet verbena, a herbaceous blue rosemary and wild thyme continue throughout, while the heart of indigenous geranium anchors the fragrance and extends through the illuminating base of lavender. These same notes are planted in the southern-hemisphere, the ‘Kaap’ which gives this fragrance range its name. The scents will be delivered in various ways to accentuate how they are perceived while complementing the flavours and aromas of the food. The Mother’s Day Sensory Luncheon is family friendly and activities will be available for young guests. The cost per person is R525 and includes a glass of bubbly on arrival and a gift for mom.
In The Table Bay’s Lounge, there will be a beautifully orchestrated Mother’s Day Sensory High Tea. The sumptuous afternoon event will be a senses-evoking experience, with elements from KAAP, including blue rosemary, indigenous geranium, wild thyme, verbena, lavender and citrus brought in to enhance the journey. Famous for its High Tea, The Table Bay presents a decadent spread of sweets, cakes, desserts and savouries on Mother’s Day. The array of sweet treats has been Inspired and presented by Pastry Sous Chef, Moizyll Baatjies, a mother of three (15, 12 & 6 yrs) who knows how to spoil Moms on Mother’s day. High Tea will be served from 14h30 and the cost per person is R320. This includes a glass of bubbly on arrival and a gift for mom.
Fittingly, the Mini Chef Event on 6 May 2017, for aspiring culinary creatives between the ages of 5 and 12, is inspired by moms. Young participants will learn to prepare a hearty breakfast, comprising savoury mince crepes and waffles for their beloved moms. They will work alongside the Chef’s for two inspiring hours while learning some special tricks of the trade. The cost to attend the workshop is R325 per child and includes lunch. Children will also get to take home the delicious treats they have learned to prepare.
