10 Things You Have to See at Museum Night Cape Town

Museum Night Cape Town, the ever popular after-hours cultural experience, has prepared a programme for tonight's activities that is full of things to see and do. Explore the museums of the V&A Waterfront in a new light, after dark this evening.

Here's a list of the top 10 things you need to see and do at tonight's event:

1. The Cape Medical Museum

A short walk along Portswood Road will take you to this hidden museums, housing exhibitions about the Cape's medical history. It's both interesting and creepy, and worth checking out.

2. Performance Programme at Portswood Tunnel

Kicking off at 5pm, the programme includes performances by Rose Bonica, AJRR, and Dukhan, concluding with a performance by Quaid Heneke and Angelo Velerio titled "Daughters, Daughters: Tunnel of Wake" at 6.20pm. 

3. The Rus Nerwich Trio

The internationally acclaimed jazz musician performs at Robben Island Jetty 1 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.

4. The WALL Gallery

It's not a museum but WALL Gallery shows some incredible work by South African artists like Peter Clarke and Cecil Skotnes. Enter through African Trading Port and find your way up to the second floor.

5. Guided walkabouts at the Iziko Maritime Centre

Gather at 7pm and 8pm for guided walkabouts of the exhibitions.

6. Harp and Flute Performance in the Aquarium

At 8pm a duo from the Cape Philharmonic Youth Orchestra will perform at the Ocean Exhibit.

7. "I am" dance performance at Nobel Square

iKapa Dance Theatre presents a 15 minute performance that celebrates being African and the appreciation of our history and heritage. 6.30pm.

8. Underwater Photographer of the Year exhibition

Amongst the ruins of the Chavonnes Battery you'll also see the 2017 edition of this international photography exhibition.

9. Ride the Cape Wheel for Half Price

If you've never been up the Cape Wheel, here's your chance. 

10. Odwa Bongo jazz performance

The performance programme ends with a performance by the talented young musician and his band. 9pm at the Clock Tower.
