This Wacky Wine Weekend, head to the picturesque Wonderfontein Estate, the home of the acclaimed Paul Rene bubbly label. The farm, situated on the Robertson Wine Valley fringe, is ready to welcome visitors to their tutored tastings on Friday 2 June and Saturday 3 June 2017.
This is the time to unwind- to sip on two silky MCC’S - the Brut, made from 100% chardonnay grapes, spends around 24 months on the lees which creates a vibrant mousse, apricot and green apple freshness, and the Brut Rose presents in a delicate shade of salmon pink, is 75% pinot noir and 25% chardonnay and embodies fruity flavours and floral undertones. The Wacky Wine Weekend is the ideal time to indulge in the hand crafted Paul Rene MCC’s, enjoyed by traditionalists and a dynamic new generation of bubbly enthusiasts.
Master the taste of Paul Rene Méthode Cap Classique by tasting your way through the various stages of their MCC including snacks and tapas on Friday evening at 19h00 and Saturday morning at 11h00.
From Friday to Sunday afternoon, the Bali Food Truck will take taste buds on a culinary adventure with delicious street-inspired Indonesian dishes on sale, infused with exotic flavours and spices. Think fried noodle croquette of chicken, crispy vermicelli, beef satay topped with peanut sauce and sweet coconut pancakes.
Relax on the lawns or under the tent and be entertained with live music on Saturday from 12h00 by CH2 and on Sunday from 12h00 by Newton & Co.
“If bubbly is your thing, be sure to turn right at the first four way stop in Robertson and make your way to the first Cap Classique wine farm at this year’s Wacky Wine”, says Paul Rene producer Henk van Niekerk
