1. Baleia Wines MTB event in Riversdale this September
The first ever Baleia Wines Mountain Bike event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 3 September, from the Baleia Wines winery next to the N2 just outside Riversdale in the Western Cape.
Baleia Wines produces the finest wine and olive products from their vineyards and olive plantations on the farm Dassieklip in the Vermaaklikheid area in the Riversdale area. The wine maker, Abraham de Klerk, is not only an enthusiastic wine maker, but also an avid mountain biker and is looking forward to host Baleia Wines’ very own mountain bike event.
The routes will not go through their vineyards (this time), but riders will be spoilt with awesome scenery and spectacular views from the routes in the area that will cross the Joubert’s grain, sheep and cattle farms.
Riders can choose from the 20km, 40km or 88km race and the start (8:00) and finish will be at Baleia Wines outside Riversdale next to the N2.
The route will offer single track, jeep track and flowing dirt roads between the rolling hills under the watchful eye of the Sleeping Beauty
The 88km race will start first at 8:00 with the entry fee being R200 while the 40km event (R140 entry fee) will start at 8:15 and the 20km race (R80 entry fee) will start at 8:30.
The Baleia Wines MTB event will be the perfect way to welcome Spring and riders and their families and friends can expect a great day out in the Hessequa area.
