Wine and dine with Chef Reuben Riffel

Chef Reuben Riffel, sommelier Luvo Ntezo and the restaurant team at the One&Only Cape Town have once again joined forces with some of South Africa’s finest wine estates and winemakers for a series of monthly wine and dine events throughout the year.

Expect 5-course wine pairing dinners at a regular event on the last Wednesday of the month. ‘Hosted by the ever-delightful One&Only brand ambassador, Aubrey Ngcungama, guests can look forward to wonderful evenings in the company of great food and wine friends.’

The year kicks off on the 25th February is Johan Kruger from Stellenbosch winery, Sterhuis.

Johan has made wine at several famous estates over the years and the accolades awarded to this, his own venture, are testament to his immense winemaking talent. He is followed on 24th March by one of the legends of South African wine, Anthony Hamilton Russell and the team from Hamilton Russell Vineyards. This cool-climate Hemel-en-Aarde pioneer makes some of the finest Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs in the country and will entertain with tales of his travels spent spreading the word around the world.

Joining Reuben on the 28th April will be Clayton Reabow from Franschhoek-based Môreson Wines.

Clayton is one of the drivers behind the newly-founded Franschhoek Appellation Grand Prestige association aimed at showcasing the regions’ terroir-focussed wines and his range of fine MCC’s, Chardonnays and more illustrate this to perfection. The following month, on the 26th of May, Reuben will welcome Schalk Burger & Sons to the board of fare. This Wellington-based winery of the famous rugby-playing family concentrates on hearty red wines, perfect with Reuben’s warming autumnal food. An exciting programme of great entertainment, outstanding wines and astounding food.
