Kleinood Winery, situated in Helderberg an area is renowned for its warm days and cool nights, has just released its Tamboerskloof's Syrah 2014.
Crimson to scarlet in colour. This wine has a complex nose of black currant and plum notes and supportive white pepper and violets. The well balanced palate shows cool dark fruit pastille, hints of violet and fine spices. The wine finishes with soft elegant tannin. Decant 30 minutes prior to serving.
This vintage is synonymous with depth of flavour and fruit intensity. The maturing vines at Kleinood are now producing an evermore complex, sophisticated and age worthy expression of Syrah. Scoring 91 points by one of the most well respected international wine critics, Neal Martin of Wine Advocate, this wine is an essential addition to every wine aficionado’s cellar.
“Reflecting the growing seasons, there is more fruit intensity compared to the 2013, quite vivacious with redcurrant, strawberry pastilles and just a touch of blackcurrant. The palate has a ripe and generous bouquet, the 15% new oak lending a little smoothness to the texture, good body and presence with a pleasant chewiness on the finish…”, comments Neal Martin on this new release.
