What better way to escape the chill of the Cape winter than a cosy evening with friends, a shared Swiss cheese fondue and exquisite wine at iconic Eikendal Vineyards. Owned by the Swiss family Saager, Eikendal is embracing the best of both worlds.
Expect a rich mustard and ale infused Gruyère cheese fondue with an assortment of dipping delicacies to indulge in: steamed broccoli and cauliflower, chunks of piping hot potatoes, toasted olive ciabatta bread, hand-crumbed chicken strips, smoked pork ribs and oven grilled, soy marinated Portabellini mushrooms.
The cost is R200 per person and includes a glass of Eikendal’s Shiraz/Petit Verdot 2015. Cellarmaster, Nico Grobler, and food guru Marilou Marais will delight guests with fascinating stories and secrets ranging from the Eikendal cellar to the Swiss Alps. Wine enthusiasts will also be able to buy and enjoy any of the other Eikendal wines with their sizzling fondue.
