1. Wine on the River, Western Cape
During the weekend of 20 - 22 October 2017, the banks of the Breede River on Goudmyn Farm will come alive with the valley’s esteemed winemakers, local chefs and producers. This picturesque centralised festival gives consumers the opportunity to taste award-winning wines from almost 30 wineries. 2. Pinotage & Biltong Festival, Gauteng
If you always thought Pinotage is only used to make serious red wines, don’t miss out on the Pinotage and Biltong Festival in Gauteng which takes place on national Pinotage day, Saturday 14 October and Sunday 15 October at the Leriba Hotel in Centurion from 11am to 5 pm daily. “This is the one festival dedicated to the Pinotage varietal in all its diversity,” says organiser Cobie van Oort of CVO Marketing. “You will be blown away by some of SA’s best red Pinotages, but you can also have lots of fun with alternatives including rosés, bubblies, blends, dessert wines and even a white Pinotage!”

3. A Splash of Pink with Paul Rene' Bubbly Festival, Western Cape

4. Sanlam Handmade Contemporary Fair, Gauteng
The annual Sanlam Handmade Contemporary Fair is no ordinary fair. Exploding with innovative design, food and wine, the fair embodies the elegance and audacity of all things ‘well made in Africa’. Intended for innovators and trend creators who want to be the first to discover top talent, the fair is now in its eighth year, and is set to transform the rooftop of Hyde Park Corner in Johannesburg from 13 to 15 October 2017.

5. The Franschhoek Cap Classique and Champagne Festival ‘The ‘Magic of Bubbles’, Western Cape
Dust off your most striking outfit and get ready for the social calendar event of 2017. Stand out in the crowd as you sip on some of SA’s finest Méthode Cap Classiques (MCC) at this year’s Franschhoek Cap Classique and Champagne Festival, ‘The Magic of Bubbles’, presented by Mastercard, which takes place on 2 and 3 December. 6. Anthonij Rupert Estate’s Annual Protea Party, Western Cape
Dust off your dancing shoes and get ready for Anthonij Rupert Estate’s annual winelands celebration – the Protea Party – being held on Saturday, 28 October. Fast becoming one of Franschhoek’s social calendar highlights, the Protea Party celebrates the spirit of Anthonij Rupert Wyne’s Protea wine range. The exclusive event is the perfect evening for guests to enjoy fine food, superb wines and world-class hospitality, while soaking up the picture-perfect views from the Anthonij Rupert Tasting Room.

7. Oyster and Champagne Festival, Western Cape
Get your dose of oysters, champagne, good music and great food at the Oyster and Champagne Festival held at the Hillcrest Quarry. You can look forward to a wide range of bubbles, from Moet & Chandon, Italian Prosecco and Spanish Cava, to a variety of local MCC’s from highly acclaimed South African wineries.

8. ABSA Champagne Festival, Gauteng
The 16th annual Absa Champagne Festival will be hosted this November in Johannesburg. The only one of its kind in South Africa, the festival promotes some of the most premium French Champagnes available. Savour the experience of this revered drink, in a beautiful balmy setting, while you enjoy the finest cuisine and mingle with guests.
