As the weekend nearing us, we've put together a fun list of our top three events in both Johannesburg and Cape Town this weekend:
What's On in Cape Town?
1. The Cabernet Franc Carnival
After two successful years of the Cabernet Franc Carnival, presented by Avontuur Estate, fans of this unusual varietal will once again get the chance to celebrate their favourite grape on Saturday, 20 May 2017 from 11:00 - 17:00 at the family-owned wine estate between Stellenbosch and Somerset West.
In addition to the tastings and purchasing of wines directly from the wineries, visitors can book for one of three tutored tastings of the Top 6 wines in the 2017 Cab Franc Challenge, presented by head of the judging panel and Cape Wine Master Christine Rudman. Tickets costs R75 pp extra and only three sessions of 20 persons each can be accommodated at 11:30, 13:30 and 15:00.

2. Floral Design with Jill Manson
Jill Manson is presenting two and a half days of floral design and styling trainmen, proving training on how to professionally create superior floral designs and style flowers for events. Jill Manson owns and run the Jill Manson Floral Deisgn School and is presenter on Fresh Cuts with Jill Manson on the DSTV Home Channel.

When: 17th to the 19th of May, Day 1 & 2 at 10am to 5pm, Day 3 at 10am to 11.30am

3. Forest Food Roving Dinner
The Forest Food Roving Dinner is hosted by Boschendal Estates Executive Chef, Chrisitian Campbell, along with renowned mushroom forager Justin Williams. With a deep appreciation for freshly forage produce, the pair will lead guests on an evening tour of the forests of Boschendal where you can learn how to forage and your own mushrooms. Thereafter a three course meal will be served across all three of the farm's venues, all within walking distance of one another.

What's On in Johannesburg?
1. The Chardonnay and Pinot Noir Festival 2017
There’s nothing better than sipping on a glass of Chardonnay or Pinot Noir after a long week. And if you're a fan of both, you're in luck. Explore the world of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir this Thursday at the Killarney Country Club.

2. The Colour Run Benoni – Superhero Tour
If you need to add a little colour to your weekend then you won't want to miss the Colour Run Benoni -Super Hero Tour. If you haven’t been to a Colour Run before, then this is your chance. Round up your friends and family, grab your tutus and running shoes, and get ready for a colourful day out in the sun. Who said exercise can't be fun?

3. The House Of Truth
If you haven't been to the theatre recently then you'll definitely want to go and watch The House of Truth at the Soweto Theatre. Written by Siphiwo Mahala and performed by local favourite, Sello Maake kaNcube, and directed by the highly acclaimed Vanessa Cooke, it promises to be a memorable experience. Based on the story of a South African writer, Can Themba, it has received great reviews from the 2016 National Arts Festival. So bring your friends. It’s time to get your culture on!
