"The concept and art of pairing has become a global culinary experience and a firm favourite among wine and food lovers," says the Sheraton Pretoria Hotel. And as such has reinvented the concept to bring you ‘Paired’ which is a unique bar food and beverage menu, pairing not only premium wines with 'exquisite food concepts', but also craft beer has made an appearance on the menu.
It’s called unexpected pairing as guests can experiment with regional fare and fusions of global cuisine. The menu features locally-inspired ingredients and you will find sweet and savoury small plates on the menu such as the rooibos smoked kudu loin with avocado, feta, oven dried tomato and peppadew with balsamic and orange reduction which is paired with the Spice Route Pinotage and the infamous and traditional South African malva pudding and apricot crème Anglaise is paired with Pierre Jourdan Ratafia.
A selection of South African craft beer is available including beer from CBC Breweries, Stellenbrau breweries and Devils Peak breweries, to name a few. Each has been carefully selected to pair together with the small plates.
Paired stretches the boundaries of traditional pairing principles by blending ingredients together in a new and unexpected way. It has been designed to bring people together and has been implemented globally across Sheraton Hotels.
