A Visit to Harbour House, Constantia Nek
One of Cape Town’s oldest restaurants and iconic Heritage building has been restored and transformed into the beautiful new Harbour House. Keeping the original form and structure of the building, the space has white interiors with rustic stone walls and floors with wall to ceiling windows, with sweeping views of the valley and the Constantiaberg mountain range from pretty much every seat in the house.
As a sister restaurant to the original Harbour House in Kalk Bay and the V&A Waterfront, the restaurant continues to produce fresh seafood with a gastronomic spin. With an array of sushi, calamari, mussels, prawn, crayfish, and their popular Mozambican style peri-peri prawns, there is something on the menu for everyone. There's also a good selection of veggie options too with fresh and light gourmet salads and vegetarian starters available as mains. Our favourite? The Potato Parmesan Gnocchi. Heaven sent in a pasta parcel.
Constantia is one of the oldest wine-producing regions in SA, and right at the top of the Nek, you'll find Harbour House propped on top of the hill. The restaurant has wide selection of award-winning wines form the surrounding Constantia wine farms, as well as other wine producing areas in and around the Western Cape. Plans for wine tasting and Champaign brunches are currently underway.
Harbour House doors are officially open for you to enjoy their spacious courtyard, breathtaking views and delicious menu. With a seating capacity of up to 100 people Harbour House is available to hire for special occasions such as birthdays, weddings and corporate functions.
