Meet Raquel Rodrigo, a Spanish set designer and artist, who is responsible for the embroidery instillations that are taking Madrid by storm. Using the age-old craft of cross-stitch embroidery Rodrigo and her team are transforming the streets of Madrid, from gritty to the unordinary with her large-scale cross-strict embroidery. Along with her team from Arquicostura, who help her plan and prepare the installations with super-sized cross-stitch techniques using colourful weather-resistant rope wrapped on chicken mesh, the patterns are unrolled and affixed to various surfaces.

You can see more of Raquel’s extraordinary large-scale embroidery projects on Facebook and Instagram.
