This annual fair showcases emerging and established artists and attracts a hip crowd, there as much for the art as for The Forum Company’s imaginative gourmet fare and a fun social occasion in a fabulous urban setting.
Now in its fifth year this contemporary African art fair has become a city fixture attracting thousands to downtown Joburg over three wintry days. There's also a programme of interesting talks led by artists and major art collectors and a series of special exhibitions. Highlights of this year's exhibition programme include a major exhibition of the works of South African master JH Pierneeffrom the private collection of Anton Taljaard co-sponsored by Strauss & Co and Artinsure; Talent Unlocked an exhibition of works by 15 young and emerging artists sponsored by RMB; the Fresh Produce showcase of exciting new artists and the Emerging Painters Graduate Show, an exhibition specially curated for the event that showcases some of the best post-graduate painting from fine arts departments across South Africa.
