Orange Liqueur Print E-mail
Oranges
  • 10 oranges
  • 500g sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 750ml brandy

Peel the oranges, discard the flesh or make some orange juice. Mix the orange peels, sugar, and cinnamon and place it in a wide rimmed glass bowl with a lid that can close tightly (a glass jar or bottle with a good seal will do). Add the brandy, close the lid and shake the bowl well. Leave the mixture to sit for 8 weeks in a warm place. Shake the bowl twice a day. Once the 8 weeks are up, sieve the mixture through fine cheesecloth. Once that’s done pour the liqueur into a sterilised dry bottle and close the cap. Leave the liqueur for one week before trying it.
