A Working Wine Farm in a Beautiful Spot Print E-mail

The Eensgevonden farmhouse is a National Monument dating back to the 1720’s. Panoramic views stretch out across the great expanse of the Breede River Valley and the magnificent mountains that surround it.

Friendly hosts will give you a warm welcome and happily show you around their farm and vineyards. The farm includes 400ha of mountain Nature Reserve with scenic hiking trails through the fynbos and a beautifully secluded waterfall and swimming pool.

Three white-washed ‘Cape-style’ cottages sleep up to 10 guests. The cottages are bright and spotlessly clean, with big double doors opening out onto large verandas. A great spot for evening sundowners and terrific views. Fully equipped for self-catering and a healthy ‘Breakfast in a Basket’ can be delivered on request. Crisp, white cotton sheets and feather duvets. No TVs or radios, just the peaceful sound of the owls at night.

Wireless Internet access is available. The cottages are surrounded by a large indigenous garden, each with its own private braai area. They are cool in summer and have cosy fireplaces in winter, when all the mountains are snow-capped. For hiking, birding, swimming, wine-tasting, peace & tranquillity—this is where you want to be.
